With a collection of some of the most energy efficient homes in Dorset, Officer’s Field is designed to help its resident’s take advantage of low-energy, low carbon living, in homes that are also sustainably built. All the homes meet the exacting standards of Code 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
The Code measures many aspects of sustainable living including energy efficiency and water use, carbon emission reduction, the environmental impact of materials, ecology, waste management, surface water reduction and the importance of flexible accommodation and personal space.
Carefully designed, beautifully finished, intrinsically economical, all Officer’s Field homes combine style with sustainability at a range of levels; cutting down carbon and reducing both energy and water bills with innovative design solutions and the latest energy-saving technologies.
These include biomass heating and rainwater harvesting. Many of the homes are also pre-fitted for photovoltaic panels.
All homes have been designed to make the most of the sun’s natural light and all have excellent insulation, significantly reducing the amount of energy needed for heat and light in the highly efficient buildings.
ZeroC is setting up an electric car club at Officer’s Field. The car will be available to all the residents who meet the basic age/insurance requirements.
